Or, The Whale

This cd is completely enjoyable! Buy it here and support a great sounding band outta SF.

I emailed them recently to get some stickers and possibly play Reno, they were super nice and are hoping to play in our fair city in the fall, perhaps even as soon as August!

We’re Half-awake in a Fake Empire

This cd is beautiful and haunting, I can't stop listening to it. The music is stunning, the lyrics are brilliant. Go buy it. Then buy the rest of their catalog, you won't be sorry. I can't even single out any tracks because I enjoy them all!

"We’ll stay inside til somebody finds us
do whatever the TV tells us
stay inside our rosy-minded fuzz for days
We’ll stay inside til somebody finds us
do whatever the TV tells us
stay inside our rosy-minded fuzz"

This and That

I haven't been posting much about music lately.

The Knitters show was great fun. I'll post the set list as soon as I get it scanned.

The new National cd is GREAT! I want to go see the in SF next month, why does the show have to be on a Wednesday?

I've been enjoying last.fm, it's interesting to see what and how much of everything I chose to listen to.

The Album Leaf are playing in town, the show is on a Sunday night. I am too old. If only I didn't have to maintain this day job.

I miss Weezer, they used to rule.

Sky Blue Sky

I've read mixed reviews on this cd, heard it's boring, not what was expected. I just expected it to be Wilco and sound amazing. In my opinion it does. Sure there are probably more exciting Wilco records, but this one is new and I for one am enjoying the hell out of it! Stand out tracks for me thus far are; Either Way, Impossible Germany, and On and On and On.

I can't wait to hear some of these songs live.

I think I'm going to buy the vinyl this weekend in SF, the art work is simple and exquisite.

Our Love to Admire

What in the hell?
Where did their lovely minimalism go?
This is creepin' me out.
Maybe someone is playing games.
Taxidermy games.

New Order No More

New Order is now a thing of the past.

In an interview Friday (May 4), bassist Peter Hook told Britain's XFM radio that the long-running pop act had crumbled. Hook, who's now holding down the low end in Perry Farrell's Satellite Party, revealed that the hiatus that set in last year was now a full-blown breakup. No reasons for the split were revealed.

Too bad, Get Ready was brilliant.

Nice!

Even thought I have seen most of these bands, I am still getting tickets to this.
Bloc Party will rule as the headliner.
QOTSA & Interpol both have new albums coming out soon and I am itching to hear the new material.
The Faint and The Lovemakers are always a dance party.
I have not seen, CSS, SSPU or the Cold War Kids and I'm overly excited to see the 3 of them.
The rest I don't really care about.
I guess seeing Social Distortion will be cool.
Sum 41 are kind of a guilty pleasure for me, so I am okay with seeing them.
The Kaiser Cheifs, Audrye Sessions, Scissors For Lefty & Every Move a Picture I am mildly curious about.
A nice warm day in the California sun, I can't wait!
