CANON!

DiFranco Reinvents Oldies On New Retrospective

Singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco has re-recorded five old songs for inclusion on an upcoming retrospective, "Canon." Due Sept. 11 via Righteous Babe, the 35-song set sports new renditions of "Napoleon," "Shameless," "Your Next Bold Move," "Both Hands" and "Overlap" recorded with bassist Todd Sickafoose and drummer Allison Miller.

The balance of "Canon" features material from throughout DiFranco's 16-year-career, including favorites such as "Coming Up," "Untouchable Face," "32 Flavors" and "Cradle & All." On the heels of her 2006 studio album "Reprieve," DiFranco will be back on the road for select dates this summer, beginning July 11 in San Diego.
